Originally from Rochester, NY, Deborah has resided in the Philadelphia area for Eighteen years. She attended Moore College of Art and Design, and in 1993 graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting. In 1999, she graduated with a Master of Fine Arts in Painting from the University of Pennsylvania. While pursuing her Master’s degree, she studied with Andrew Forge, Barbara Grossman, Susana Jacobson, Nigel Rolfe and Robert Slutzky.

From 1993-2003, Deborah maintained a studio in the 915 Spring Garden Studio Building in Philadelphia. Her tenure in the studio building was integral to establishing her studio practice due in part to annual open studio events, friendships and encouragement from fellow artists in the building.

Included among her exhibitions of Fine Art are: the Bowery Gallery Juried Show in NY, NY; the Young Talent Show 2000 in Washington Depot, CT; Wayne Art Center Juried Exhibition 2001; Woodmere Art Museum 61st Juried Exhibition; and the 2004 Philadelphia Sketch Club Works on Paper Show. She has shown her functional work of lampshades and lamps at shows such as the American Craft Council show in Baltimore, Philadelphia Invitational Furniture Show, Fine Furnishings Providence Show, and One of a Kind Show and Sale NY.

Deborah has taught at the Darlington Fine Arts Center in Wawa, PA, the University of Pennsylvania College of General Studies, Moore College of Art and Design, Drexel University and Philadelphia University.

She maintains her studio as a full time artist at her home in Bucks County, PA; where she focuses on all her work and receives continual support and inspiration from her husband, one devoted cat, two horses, and a Chihuahua.
